Rev. Bryan Wendling
Bryan is a born and raised Kansas Citian. He and Brenda (his bride of 26 years) graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1981. Brenda, a registered nurse, works on Whiteman Air Force Base. Bryan and Brenda are the proud parents of two remarkable young men; Andy and Jake. Andy resides in Kansas City and is a special education teacher in the Raytown School District. Jake is a junior at Northwest Missouri State and is working toward a marketing degree.
Education:
Bryan is a graduate of Saint Paul School of Theology’s Masters of Divinity program. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedictine College in 1985, and an MBA from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1999.
Pastoral Ministry:
Prior to joining Knob Noster UMC in July of 2011, Bryan served for four years as the Associate Pastor at Blue Ridge Boulevard UMC in Kansas City, MO. For the two and a half years preceding Blue Ridge UMC Bryan served as Pastor of a two-point charge; Polo UMC and Cowgill UMC. Before taking on pastoral duties in 2005, Bryan and his family attended Avondale UMC where he taught adult Sunday school and served in multiple lay leadership positions.
Corporate & Military Experience:
Upon graduating from Benedictine College in `85, Bryan was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army and served as a MEDEVAC helicopter pilot. He is a decorated combat veteran and left active duty in August `96 after achieving the rank of Major.
Prior to entering into full-time ministry, Bryan worked for CA International in the Leawood, KS office. He was responsible for managing technical support and maintenance of CA software deployed at several of CA’s local strategic accounts.
Hobbies:
Bryan and Brenda enjoy hanging out at the lake with their boys, their daughter-in-law, Jessica (Andy’s wife), and their grandson Jude. Bryan’s favorite pastimes include watching Jake water ski, watching Andy perform (the drummer), horseback riding with Brenda, playing his guitar, reading, and water-skiing.
