Jesus said “The most important commandment is this: you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.”
(Mark 12:30-31)
Here at Knob Noster UMC we strive to obediently respond to Jesus’ call by growing together in our love of God, love for people, and selfless service.
Love God, love people, and serve people. This simple statement encompasses both our Knob Noster UMC mission and our process for fulfilling our mission. First, we love God. This is the most basic and essential aspect of Christian discipleship, but it doesn’t end there. Growing in love with God also means that we grow in community with others; we learn to love who God loves (all people) and to love them the way God loves them; sacrificially. As we grow deeper in love with God and others, serving others is the natural result. It’s all about loving God, loving people, and serving people.
